August 4th-8th-The Land and Water Connection-

The Land and Water Connection is a week long educational camp for middle school students (Grades 6, 7, and 8) and teachers from the nine Eastern Shore Counties.  Students and teachers learn together about the natural and political processes that impact the Chesapeake Bay Watershed through field experiences and simulations.  Through mutual discussions, role playing, and hands on experiences, both teachers and students are expected to become aware of the many factors affecting the management of the Chesapeake Bay. Sponsored by the Dorchester Soil Conservation District.

August 6, 8009 -Advanced N: Improving Efficiency Through Technology-

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Anne Arundel Community College, Pascal Theater.  Who should attend?  Consultants, farmers, agency, agricultural industry, research and education personnel.  This course will award six (6) Maryland nutrient management continuing education credits in all categories.  Registration fee of $30 covers learning materials, breaks, and lunch.  Registration to guarantee lunch is July 30th.  Late registrations and walk-ins cannot be guaranteed lunch and there is no discount.  Please register by mail by July 30th.  Seating is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  For more information, please call the Nutrient Management Program at 410-841-5959.

 

August 11-16th-Queen Anne's County Fair- 

Come join us at the fair!  We will have a booth set up in the Commercial Building.  We hope to see everyone Thursday night at the Pork BBQ Dinner where we'll be serving!  Stop in and say hi.
